Masks and Accessories 2019

The masks and props shown were built for actors during the 2019 Halloween season. The ‘Scarecrows’ were constructed with burlap, cotton twill lining, polyester mesh, cotton twine, prop teeth, and detailed with paint and polyurethane ‘grime.’ The feathered helmet was inspired by a ‘Mad Max’ aesthetic and is built over a wire-mesh mask that was reshaped and detailed using a Dremel cutting wheel. An iron filament and vinegar mix was used for the rust effect, with electroluminescent tape and LEDs for the lighting. Lastly, the loincloth piece is made from over 16 feet of hand-painted and hand-weathered weaved cotton cloth that was cut, sized, and sewn for a 20 foot tall monster feature.
